Secret Mission is one of the best games on the CD-i and does not need a Digital Video cartridge. The game is a classic point 'n click adventure, a genre of games always popular on the PC CD-ROM systems of the time.

Secret MissionSTORY / GAMEPLAY
The game's story takes place during the 50s, in the Indo-Chinese country of Opalia. Opalia has become a target and its geographic position made it a real hot spot in the Cold War between the two major superpowers, USA and the USSR. Networks of underground informants and foreign spies have totally destabilized this, once peaceful, country and local rebels led by their devious Prime Minister Vishaka, are trying to topple the king. The safety of Opalia is in your own hands now and you just can't let them down. The puzzles to be solved are clever, varied and rank from simple to tricky. There is a number of imaginative decoding, safe cracking, music tasking, dialogue and text puzzles, a prescription to be found and mixed and there is also a gambling part. Simple object tasks are often made more difficult due to their complicated handling. Unfortunately the character's control is quite obscure as the animation is slow and gets quite complicated when you're in isometric view.

GRAPHICS / SOUND
This game was developed by the team behind two of the best adventures ever, the "Cyberia" and "Post Mortem". Microids did their best to release a game with great visuals and a neat story. The background graphics of the interiors and exteriors look impressive with load of colors and details and there are also a few beautiful and relatively frequent 3D cut-scenes accompanied by cool CD-audio music.
